Club CMT is returning for a 1 week session this winter to beat the winter blues during ski-week. Club CMT provides quality musical theater training in a fun, safe and engaging environment. Students rotate between core classes in Acting, Voice, and Dance as well as exciting elective classes. Special workshops and dress up themes will keep each day fun! Classes take place indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) with frequent supervised water/snack breaks. Students are assigned to small stable groups and remain with their group for the duration of the Session. Club CMT will strictly adhere to current County Guidelines. Masks are required.
*All participants are required to sign a Health and Safety Waiver to acknowledge their understanding of the important new practices in place to protect all students and staff members against COVID-19.
Please Note: As mandated by Santa Clara County, children can only participate in one in-person program at a time. If your child is already participating in an in-person program elsewhere, they will not be allowed to participate in an in-person program at CMT.

Where will Club CMT: Winter Edition be held?
Club CMT: Winter Edition will be held at the CMT Rehearsal Hall. At this time, we are hopeful that we will be able to hold this program in our brand new space located at 1545 Parkmoor Ave. In the event that construction is not yet completed on our new space, Club CMT: Winter Edition will be held at our previous residence located right across the street at 1401 Parkmoor Ave.
What is the ratio of staff to students?
Each group of 12 students will have a minimum of two staff members with them at all times. In addition to implementing theater based lesson plans, staff members will ensure students are closely following all safety measures while onsite.
What precautions will CMT put in place to protect against COVID-19?
We will be implementing the same rigorous safety measures we found such success with this Summer during our five weeks of Camp CMT. Safety procedures will continue to be adjusted as new State and County Guidelines become available to protect students and families on an ongoing basis. All families must sign off on the Health and Safety waiver upon registration, which includes a downloadable detailed breakdown of CMT’s Health and Safety Guidelines.
Where do classes take place?
All programs will be held at the CMT Studios located at 1401 Parkmoor Ave Suite 100 San Jose CA. Club CMT classes will take place both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting.
What if we need to arrive late, pick up early or miss a day altogether?
Tardiness and absences are not an issue for Club CMT! If you arrive between the designated drop off/pick up times, the drive through will be closed. Please park in the front parking lot and walk your child to the Club Office (located at the Studio A entrance). Because there is no formal recital at the end of the session, missing a class or day will not impact a student’s overall participation in the program. Please note that prorated refunds will not be offered for any missed class time due to tardiness or absences.
Will there be a final performance?
Club CMT will not have an in-person final recital but instead, a multi-media presentation will be created as the session progresses and shared digitally with all families throughout the session.
Will siblings be placed together in the same group? Can we request to be in a group with a friend?
We will make every effort to place siblings together where possible for Club CMT. Siblings who are three or more years apart in age may not be placed in the same group. To request to be placed in a group with a friend for Club CMT, please be sure to include your request in the “Friend Request” section of the registration form.
Are masks required?
Yes. Masks are required for all students and staff members while on site for all in-person programs. For Club CMT, students will be given frequent breaks for water and snacks and will be closely supervised during these brief unmasked breaks.
Will CMT offer any virtual classes?
At this time the only classes we plan to offer virtually this Fall will be our Monday Night Dance Classes via Zoom. More details will be provided on the website soon. Registration will open in mid-August for dance classes that will begin in mid-September.
Can parents observe or see the space where classes are held? Can we take a trial class?
For the health and safety of all involved, only registered students and staff members may be on site while programs are running. Therefore, trial classes are not offered at this time and parents are not invited to observe.
How will drop off and pick up work?
All parents are asked to use our drive through for drop off and pick up exclusively. This will cut down on any unnecessary contact and helps to ensure the safety of our students, teachers and parents. Students will be held in outdoor pods after drop off and enter the building one group at a time. Students will be brought back to their outdoor pods for pick up as well.
What is the cancellation policy?
The cancellation deadlines are set one week prior to the start of each program. No refunds will be given after the cancellation deadlines. Cancellation requests made before the deadlines are subject to a $50 processing fee for Club CMT and a $25 processing fee for Tiny Tots and Junior Talents. To request a cancellation or exchange—send an email to registration@cmtsj.org. Make sure to include; 1. Order Number. 2. The participant’s name. 3. Your reason for canceling/exchanging.
