Winter Master Class Series – Mainstage (Ages 14*-20)

Join us this Winter as we bring you Broadway Artists from all across the Country to teach a variety of master classes catered specifically to our CMT performers! Sign up for your favorite, or enjoy a special bundle price and save on all four classes.

  • $30 for a single class
  • $100 for all 4 classes

*High school age and above.

Jan 21st 4-5pm- Dance Workshop

DeMarius Copes (Hamilton, Mean Girls, Newsies) Artist’s Bio

Learn iconic choreography and improve your technique as you dance the afternoon away with a seasoned Broadway Artist. This unique opportunity brings a professional quality NYC dance class into your living room. Don’t miss the chance to dance with DeMarius!

Jan 28th 4-5pm- Acting Through Song (ATS)

Ben Bogen (Frozen, Jersey Boys) Artist’s Bio

Make new discoveries and strengthen your skill set as a musical theater performer by learning from seasoned Bay Area native, Ben Bogen! 3-4 participants* will be selected from the group to prepare a 32 bar audition song (30 seconds to a minute) ahead of time. All participants are invited to take part in a Q&A at the end of class.

Feb 4th 4-5pm- Vocal Technique

Adrianna Hicks (SIX, The Color Purple) Artist’s Bio

Reach new heights and add valuable tools to your singer’s tool belt with one of Broadway’s best. 3-4 participants will be selected from the group to prepare a 32 bar vocal selection (30 seconds to a minute) ahead of time. All participants are invited to take part in a Q&A at the end of class.

About CMT Guest Series

CMT offers exclusive one-time-only lectures, workshops, seminars, special events and more presented by various guests artists who are currently working professionals in their field of performing arts.

Recent guest artists included Ryan Vasquez and Jennifer Gellman from the National touring production of Hamilton. Other notable guests include: Disney Theatricals producer, Thomas Schumacher, Broadway stage and film actor, Anthony Rapp, Tony nominated actor and CMT alumn Alex Brightman, Broadway composers Jason Robert Brown, and Drew Gasparini, Broadway actor and CMT alumn Aaron Albano (Cats, Newsies, Mary Poppins, Wicked, Bombay Dreams, A Chorus Line) Broadway casting director Rachel Hoffman (Telsey + Company), Broadway actor and choreographer Jacob Brent.

Spend an afternoon with some of CMT’s most talented guest and resident teaching artists and directors. Learn about CMT’s audition process, how to perfect an audition song, how to make the most of a cold reading and how to stand out during a dance audition. All participants will take part in a mock audition and receive personal feedback from instructors.

 Who Can Attend?

Audition Master Classes are now offered for Rising Stars and Mainstage performers before our fall, winter and spring auditions. There’s also a special class for Junior Talents performers (aged 6 to 9) in time for their summer production auditions.

There are no audition master classes schedules for Season 53

What To Bring

  • A prepared song.
  • An accompaniment CD (with background or karaoke music) is highly encouraged but not required.
  • Wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing that they can easily move around in.
  • A water bottle.
  • A notebook.
  • A pen or pencil.

Where is Class Held?

All Audition Master Classes are held at the CMT Rehearsal Hall in Studio A.

Cost

Each Audition Master Class is $95.

Cancellation Policy

Registration deadlines are set for 5 p.m., one week prior to each class start date.

Cancellations requested prior to the registration deadlines are subject to a $25 processing fee. No refunds for cancellations or transfers will be honored after the registration deadlines. Check payments written with insufficient funds will be subject to a $35 fee.
